RECRUITMENT UNDER UNIT HEADQUARTERS QUOTA
OF 1 EME CENTRE, SECUNDERABAD : OCT 2013
1. Recruitment rally under Unit HQ Quota is being scheduled to be held at this Centre with effect from 28 Oct 2013 to 24 Nov 2013 for son of War Widow/Ex-servicemen/Servicemen and own brother of servicemen/ex-servicemen including wards of TA personnel for Soldier (Technical), Soldier Technical (Aviation), Soldier (General Duty), Soldier (Tradesmen) (Musician) and Soldier (Tradesmen) 10th Standard/8th Standard category. Eligible candidates are required to report at Golden Jubilee Stadium of 1 Training Battalion, 1 EME Centre, Bolarum, Secunderabad at 0600h on 28 Oct 2013.
2. Selection procedure. The under mentioned tests are compulsory for all categories :-
(a) Physical Fitness Test
(i) 1.6 KM Run
(ii) 9 Feet Ditch
(iii) Pull Ups
(iv) Zig-Zag balance.
(b) Medical. After completion of Physical Fitness Test, successful candidates will have to go through the medical examination. Only medically FIT candidates will be permitted to sit in the CEE. Candidates who are declared UNFIT by medical authorities will be permitted to get themselves examined by Medical Specialist at Military Hospital, Secunderabad for reviewing their medical status.
(c) Aptitude Test. Aptitude test will be carried out for Soldier (Tradesmen) (Musician) and Soldier (Tradesmen) only.
3. Common Entrance Examination (CEE). All the candidates who have been declared FIT in the medical examination will undergo to a Common Entrance Examination (CEE) which will be conducted at 1 EME Centre on 24 Nov 2013.
4. Documents required :-
(a) Relationship Certificate issued by concerned Record Office.
(b) Civil Education certificates.
(c) Nativity/Permanent residence certificate issued by Dy Commissioner/Tehsildar/MRO/SDM.
(d) Caste certificate/Community certificate issued by Dy Commissioner/Tehsildar/MRO/SDM.
(e) Pre-verification/Character Certificate of all family members duly signed by SHO/local police authorities.
(f) Conduct certificate of the candidates duly signed by the village Sarpanch/Headmaster/Principal of recognized school/college (where the candidate is presently studying ).
(g) Character Certificate issued by Village Sarpanch. Joint photographs of all family members duly attested by village Sarpanch with his stamp.
(h) Un-married certificate from BDO/Village Sarpanch/Village Administrative officer. duly endorsing his office seal stating that for candidate is below 21 years of age.
(j) Photo copy of Kindred Roll of Father/Brother or Discharge book in case of ex-servicemen or pension book of Mother in case of Son of Widow duly attested.
(m) Fifteen copies of latest passport size colored photographs. .
(n) Death certificate issued by MH/Register of Birth and Death in case Father/Brother is deceased.
(o) NCC Certificate in case NCC Candidates.
(p) Sports Certificate from the concerned authorities if any.
(q) For candidates between 17 ½ and 18 years of age, Affidavit on Rs. 20/- Non Judicial Stamp Paper in English from parents and Executive magistrate class-I/SDM.

7. Enrolment of Outstanding Sportsmen from Open Category. Outstanding sportsmen in the field of the Golf, Kayaking and Canoeing, Rowing, Swimming (Water Polo/Diving) & Volleyball who have represented their State or India either at Senior or Junior level or represented the University in Inter-University Tournaments or represented the State School Teams in the National Sports or Games for Schools conducted by the all India Schools Games Federation or represented the Inter District School Teams in the Inter District Sports or Games for Schools conducted by the State School Games Federation, have been requested to participate along with their certificates, according to a press note. The certificate should not be more than two years old.

1. Indian Air Force offers opportunities for UNMARRIED MALE INDIAN CITIZENS from the
designated Districts of State Tamil Nadu, Union Territories of Puducherry, Karaikal
andAndaman & Nicobar Islands to become airmen. The Recruitment Test for Group ‘X’
(Technical) Trades will be held at Seethakathi Sethupathy Stadium, Collectorate
Campus, Ramanathapuram (Tamil Nadu) from 18 October 2013 to 23 October 2013
as per the Selection Programme given below.
2. SELECTION PROGRAMME. The Recruitment Test will be conducted from 7AM
 onwards as per the details given below. Candidates reporting upto 10AM at the Rally
venue will only be permitted to appear in the Recruitment Rally.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
3. DATE OF BIRTH BLOCK. (a) Candidates should be born between 01 FEBRUARY 1994 to
31 MAY 1997 (both days inclusive).
(b) Upper age limit on date of enrolment is 21 years.
4. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
(a) Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics
and English, with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
 OR
(b) Three years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology /Information
Technology) from a Government recognised Polytechnic Institute with minimum 50% marks
in overall aggregate, and 50% marks in English in Diploma or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma.
Note : - Exact aggregate percentage of marks up to first place of decimal for all subjects as
mentioned in the Marks Sheet of Intermediate or 10+2/equivalent (For example, 49.9% should
NOT be rounded off to 50%).
5. DOMICILE REQUIREMENT. To be eligible to appear in the rally at Seethakathi Sethupathy
Stadium, Collectorate Campus, Ramanathapuram (Tamil Nadu) the candidates are
required to satisfy the following conditions:- (a) Should have passed the qualifying
examination from any of the RECOGNISED BOARDS/UNIVERSITY. (b) The School/College/
Polytechnic Institute from where candidates have passed the qualifying examination should
be within the geographical/administrative limits of the specified Districts (as mentioned
in Para 2 above) of State of Tamil Nadu, Union Territories of Puducherry, Karaikal
and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. If the name of District is not mentioned with the name
of Institution in the certificate/marks sheets of qualifying examination, the candidates are to
produce 'Domicile Certificate' issued by the following:- (i) State of Tamil Nadu, Union
Territories of Puducherry and Karaikal - Taluk Tehsildar or any official authorised
by the State Government of Tamil Nadu or Government of Territories of Puducherry
and Karaikal to issue Domicile Certificate. (ii) Andaman & Nicobar Islands - DM/SDM/
Executive Magistrate or any official authorised by Government of Territory of
Andaman & Nicobar Islands. (c) Permanent Domicile of specified Districts (as
mentioned in Para 2 above) of State of Tamil Nadu, Union Territories of Puducherry,
Karaikal and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, who have passed the qualifying examination
from any where in India. However, such candidates have to produce the Domicile Certificate
prior to commencement of examination from appropriate authority as given in subparagraph 5(b) above. (d) Sons of Serving/Retired/Discharged/Deceased Air Force
Personnel, irrespective of their domicile status may be permitted to appear in the rally subject
to submission of Son of Air Force Personnel Certificate as a proof in the following categories:-
(i) Father/Mother is presently serving in any Air Force Unit located in the specifiedDistricts
(as mentioned in Para 2 above) of State of Tamil Nadu, Union Territories of
Puducherry, Karaikal andAndaman & Nicobar Islands. (ii) Ex-IAF personnel/families
of deceased personnel who are residing in the specified Districts (as mentioned in
Para 2 above) of State of Tamil Nadu, Union Territories of Puducherry, Karaikal and
Andaman & Nicobar Islands (on production of proof of minimum stay of one year
along with Original and a photo copy of Discharge Book).
6. MEDICAL STANDARDS
(a) General Medical Standards for Group 'X' (Technical) Trades are as follows:
(i) Height: Minimum height required is 152.5 cms. (ii) Chest: Minimum range of expansion
is 5 cm. (iii) Weight: Proportionate to height and age. (iv) Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) is
not acceptable. (v) Hearing: Candidates should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced
whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately. (vi) Dental: Should have
healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points. (vii) Health: Candidates
should be free from medical or surgical deformity. He should be free from all communicable
diseases and skin ailments. Candidates must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in
any part of world, in any climate and terrain.
(b) Colour Vision, Visual Standards and Leg Length for Group 'X' (Technical) Trades

Candidates should bring latest prescription and spectacles for corrected vision,
if used. The prescription must bear the signature, stamp and registration number of
eye specialist.
7. Candidates discharged from the Armed Forces on any ground or dismissed from
any Government Organisation for any reason earlier are NOT eligible to appear in
the Rally.
8. WRITING MATERIALS AND DOCUMENTS REQUIRED. Candidates are to bring the following
documents and writting materials along with them while coming for the examination:-
(a) HB Pencil, Eraser, Sharpener, Gum tube, Stapler and Black/Blue Ball Point Pen
for writting. (b) Seven copies of recent (taken on or after 18 July 2013) passport-size
colour photograph (front portrait, without headgear except for Sikhs). Photographs
should be only on good quality “photo paper” with Light Background. (c) Two unstamped
self addressed 24x10 cm white envelopes of good quality. (d) Original and three
photostat copies of all educational certificates, marks sheets and Domicile Certificate as
well as NCC certificates (if applicable). UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES THE CANDIDATES
WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO APPEAR IN THE SELECTION TEST WITHOUT
ORIGINAL MATRICULATION PASS CERTIFICATE, INTERMEDIATE MARKS SHEETS,
INTERMEDIATE PASS CERTIFICATE AND DOMICILE CERTIFICATE. HOWEVER,
CANDIATES WITH PHOTOCOPIES OF MATRICULATION PASS CERTIFICATE,
INTERMEDIDATE MARKS SHEETS AND INTERMEDIATE PASS CERTIFICATE CAN
BE PERMITTED TO APPEAR IN THE SELECTION TEST ONLY ON PRODUCTION OF
A CERTIFICATE FROM SCHOOL / COLLEGE PRINCIPAL CERTIFYING THAT

TERMS AND CONDITIONs

9. TENURE AND TRAINING. Enrolment is for an initial period of 20 years extendable up
to the age of 57 years. Initially candidates will be sent for a Joint Basic Phase Training
(JBPT) at Basic Training Institute, Belgaum (Karnataka). On successful completion of
JBPT, candidates will be allocated trades and sent for Trade Training of specified
duration. Training is however liable to be terminated at any time if the trainee fails to
achieve the required standards in academics, profession, physical fitness and
discipline or is found to be medically unfit. After successful completion of training,
the airmen will be deployed on ground based jobs as per their allotted
trades.

10. PAY & ALLOWANCES. During training, a stipend of Rs. 8,550/-per month will be
paid. On completion of training, starting gross emoluments at the minimum of
scale of pay including Dearness Allowance(DA), will be Rs. 22,410/-per month
(approximately) [Pay in Pay Band - (Rs.7,050/-)+Grade Pay - (Rs.2,000/-)+Military
Service Pay (MSP)-Rs.2,000/-+Group X Pay (Rs.1400/-)+DA@80%- (Rs.9960/-)
which, in subsequent years, may rise up to Rs. 39,546/-per month (approximately)
[ Pay in Pay Band - (Rs.13,770/-) + Grade Pay - (Rs.4800/-) + Military Service Pay
(MSP) - (Rs.2,000) + Group X Pay - (Rs. 1,400/-) + DA @ 80% - (Rs. 17,576/-)]as per
sixth pay commission depending upon the rank attained. Other allowances such as
Transport Allowance, Composite Personal Maintenance Allowance(CPMA), Leave
Ration Allowance (LRA), Family Planning Allowance, GCB+Classn pay, HRA etc are
also admissible to airmen.

11. PERQUISITES. Perks such as Ration, Clothing, Medical Facilities,
accommodation, CSD Canteen Facilities, Leave (60 days Annual and 30
days Casual leave admissible as a priviledge), Education Concession to
children, Recreational Facilities, Free Transport for school going children
and Leave Travel Concession (LTC). Not withstanding the above, Group
Insurance Cover of Rs.25,00,000/- at a premium of Rs.1,730/- per month, is covered
for all airmen and facility of Group Housing Scheme is also extended. Other facilities
by Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) are also extended for family
of airmen.
12. JOBSPECIFICATIONS.
 Group 'X' (Technical) Trades involve jobs as given below:
(a) Automobile Fitter. In this trade you are responsible for maintenance and repair
of all types of light and heavy duty mechanical vehicles, cranes and loading equipment
etc. (b) Electronics Fitter. As an Electronics Fitter you operate and maintain Radar,
Voice and Data transmission and reception equipment mounted on latest airborne
weapon delivery systems and ground based air defence systems. You will get
trained in Digital Electronics, measuring instruments, radar technology, latest electronic
devices and related trade fundamentals. (c) Electrical Fitter. You will maintain
power supply system of latest types of aircraft, airborne missiles and associated
ground systems. You will also maintain photo equipment mounted on air borne
weapon systems and operate ground based photo systems. You will get trained in
electrical trade, operation and maintenance of digital devices, electronics devices
etc. (d) Mechanical System Fitter. You will repair and maintain mechanical, hydraulic
and pneumatic systems of airborne missiles, engines, automobiles aircraft fuelling
equipment. Complete aircraft ground support equipment will also be repaired and
maintained by you. You will be trained in handling and preparation of bombs and
explosives and in electrical system, workshop and mechanical trades as well as
automobile mechanics. (e) Structures Fitter. As Structures Fitter you are responsible
for the maintenance and servicing of airframes and their accessories, components
and controls of aircraft. Regular checks for the entire hydraulic and pneumatic
system to ensure proper functioning against leaks are also part of your duties. You
will also be assigned the responsibility of marshalling, parking, picketing and ground
handling of aircraft. (f) Propulsion Fitter. In this trade you will repair, maintain and
prepare for use the propulsion system of aircraft and other airborne weapon delivery
system. (g) Workshop Fitter (Smith). You will undertake major structural repairs
of all aircraft at central repair facilities. You will also be trained in workshop trade for
material treatment, welding, heat treatment, smithy and basic machine tools etc. (h)
Workshop Fitter (Mechanical). You will undertake repair and maintenance work
of mechanical nature. You will be trained in workshop trade and practices. (j) Weapon
Fitter. In this trade, you will prepare, maintain and service armaments, ammunition
and safety equipment of aircraft, missiles and other weapon delivery systems. You
will also operate and maintain small arms and bomb destruction equipment. You will
be trained to handle bombs, explosives, arms and their installation on weapon delivery
platforms.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
13. VERIFICATION OF ELIGIBILITY.Certificates / Mark Sheets and other required
documents {NCC 'A', 'B' or 'C' Certificate, Son of Air Force Personnel
Certificate (SOAFP)} etc will be scrutinized and verified at the examination venue
prior to commencement of Written Test to ascertain the prima-facie eligibility. Detailed
verification will be carried out in respect of candidates who pass Written Test later.
Candidature of those who do not meet the laid down educational criteria is liable to
be rejected even after written test after detailed verification of original documents.
SEQUENCE OF EXAMINATION
14. WRITTEN TEST. Written test will be objective type and question paper will be
bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English Paper. Duration of the written test will
be 60 minutes and will be conducted in English, Physics and Mathematics
as per CBSE syllabus of AISSCE. CANDIDATES ARE TO QUALIFY EACH
PAPER SEPERATELY. Results of the written test will be declared on the same day.
15. PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST (PFT) . All candidates who pass the written test are to
undergo Physical Fitness Test (PFT) on the same or the next day. PFT consists
of a 1.6 Km run to be completed within 8 minutes. Candidates completing the PFT
in less than 7 minutes 30 seconds will be awarded additional marks on a
sliding scale. Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts.
16. INTERVIEW. Candidates who have passed the written test and PFT will be
interviewed. Interview is normally conducted in English. Working Knowledge
of English is thus essential.
17. MEDICAL EXAMINATION . Medical examination will be conducted as per IAF
medical standards for recruitment as airmen by medical officers of the Armed
Forces. Candidates declared Medically Unfit can avail the option for Appeal Medical
Board (AMB) against their Unfitness by depositing Rs. 40/- in a Government Treasury/
RBI/SBI through Military Receivable Order (MRO). The application for AMB along with
original copy of MRO, Xerox copy of Unfitness Certificate and Postal Stamp worth
Rs. 25/- affixed on a self addressed envelope are to be submitted to 8 Airmen
Selection Centre, Air Force Station Tambaram, Chennai (Tamil Nadu) for
processing within seven working days from the date of issue of Medical Certificate.
Note: Candidates are also advised to get tartar and stains removed from
their teeth before appearing for the written test. Ears should be free of
wax. Candidates should be prepared to stay for the test for four to five
days under their own arrangements. No TA/DA will be admissible.
18. PUBLISHING OF ALL INDIA SELECT LIST (AISL). The All India Select List (AISL)
will be displayed at 8 Airmen Selection Centre, Air Force Station Tambaram,
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) on 31 JANUARY 2014. A copy of the Display List will be
sent to District Magistrate of Ramanathapuram (Tamil Nadu) through Airmen
Selection Centre and also will be available at Indian Air Force website
www.indianairforce.nic.in. The inclusion of names of the candidates in
the AISL depends upon the performance of the candidates in the Rally.
Inclusion of name in the All India Select List (AISL) does not guarantee
automatic enrolment. Enrolment is strictly in order of merit from the
AISL subject to medical fitness, availability of vacancies, not exceeding
the age of 21 years on date of enrolment and meeting laid down eligibility
criteria as and when called for enrolment.

1. Indian Air Force offers opportunities for UNMARRIED MALE INDIAN CITIZENS from all
the districts of State of Karnataka to become airmen. The Recruitment Test for Group
‘X’ (Technical) Trades will be held at District Indoor Stadium (Badminton Court Hall),
Near District Stadium, Gadag Road, Koppal (Karnataka) from 31July 2013 to 03 August
2013 as per the Selection Programme given below.
2. SELECTION PROGRAMME. The Recruitment Test will be conducted from 7AM
 onwards as per the details given below. Candidates reporting upto 10AM at the Rally
venue will only be permitted to appear in the Recruitment Rally.
Note : - The Recruitment Test is not for selection as Commissioned Officers/Pilots/

3. DATE OF BIRTH BLOCK. (a) Candidates should be born between 01 MAY 1993 to
30 NOVEMBER 1996 (both days inclusive). (b) Upper age limit on date of enrolment is
21 years.
4. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
(a) Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics
and English, with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
 OR
(b) Three years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology /Information
Technology) from a Government recognised Polytechnic Institute with minimum 50% marks
in overall aggregate, and 50% marks in English in Diploma or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma.
Note : - Exact aggregate percentage of marks up to first place of decimal for all subjects as
mentioned in the Marks Sheet of Intermediate or 10+2/equivalent (For example, 49.9% should
NOT be rounded off to 50%).
5. DOMICILE REQUIREMENT. To be eligible to appear in the rally at District Indoor Stadium
(Badminton Court Hall), Near District Stadium, Gadag Road, Koppal (Karnataka) the
candidates are required to satisfy the following conditions:- (a) Should have passed the
qualifying examination from any of the RECOGNISED BOARDS/UNIVERSITY. (b) The School/
College/Polytechnic Institute from where candidates have passed the qualifying examination
should be within the geographical/administrative limits of State of Karnataka. If the name
of District is not mentioned with the name of Institution in the certificate/marks sheets of
qualifying examination, the candidates are to produce 'Domicile Certificate' issued by
Any Gazetted Officer in Revenue Department or any official authorised by the
State Government of Karnataka to issue Domicile Certificate. (c) Permanent Domicile of
Karnataka, who have passed the qualifying examination from any where in India. However,
such candidates have to produce the Domicile Certificate prior to commencement of
examination from appropriate authority as given in sub-paragraph 5(b) above. (d) Sons of
Serving/Retired/Discharged/Deceased Air Force Personnel, irrespective of their domicile
status may be permitted to appear in the rally subject to submission of Son of Air Force
Personnel Certificate as a proof in the following categories:- (i) Father/Mother is presently
serving in any Air Force Unit located in any District of State of Karnataka (ii) Ex-IAF
personnel/families of deceased personnel who are residing in any District of State of
Karnataka (on production of proof of minimum stay of one year along with Original
and a photo copy of Discharge Book).
6. MEDICAL STANDARDS
(a) General Medical Standards for Group 'X' (Technical) Trades are as follows:
(i) Height: Minimum height required is 152.5 cms. (ii) Chest: Minimum range of expansion
is 5 cm. (iii) Weight: Proportionate to height and age. (iv) Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) is
not acceptable. (v) Hearing: Candidates should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced
whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately. (vi) Dental: Should have
healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points. (vii) Health: Candidates
should be free from medical or surgical deformity. He should be free from all communicable
diseases and skin ailments. Candidates must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in
any part of world, in any climate and terrain.

7. Candidates discharged from the Armed Forces on any ground or dismissed from
any Government Organisation for any reason earlier are NOT eligible to appear in
the Rally.
8. WRITING MATERIALS AND DOCUMENTS REQUIRED. Candidates are to bring the following
documents and writting materials along with them while coming for the examination:-
(a) HB Pencil, Eraser, Sharpener, Gum tube, Stapler and Black/Blue Ball Point Pen
for writting. (b) Seven copies of recent (taken on or after 01 May 2013) passport-size
colour photograph (front portrait, without headgear except for Sikhs). Photographs
should be only on good quality “photo paper” with Light Background. (c) Two unstamped
self addressed 24x10 cm white envelopes of good quality. (d) Original and three
photostat copies of all educational certificates, marks sheets and Domicile Certificate as
well as NCC certificates (if applicable). UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES THE CANDIDATES
WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO APPEAR IN THE SELECTION TEST WITHOUT
ORIGINAL MATRICULATION PASS CERTIFICATE, INTERMEDIATE MARKS SHEETS,
INTERMEDIATE PASS CERTIFICATE AND DOMICILE CERTIFICATE. HOWEVER,
CANDIATES WITH PHOTOCOPIES OF MATRICULATION PASS CERTIFICATE,
INTERMEDIDATE MARKS SHEETS AND INTERMEDIATE PASS CERTIFICATE CAN
BE PERMITTED TO APPEAR IN THE SELECTION TEST ONLY ON PRODUCTION OF
A CERTIFICATE FROM SCHOOL / COLLEGE PRINCIPAL CERTIFYING THAT
EDUCATIONAL CERTIFICATES / MARKS SHEETS ARE DEPOSITED WITH SCHOOL
/ COLLEGE. (e) Consent Form: (as per the format given below) Candidates are to bring
the "Consent Form" to the Examination Venue and submit it before the Physical Fitness Test.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
9. TENURE AND TRAINING. Enrolment is for an initial period of 20 years extendable up
to the age of 57 years. Initially candidates will be sent for a Joint Basic Phase Training
(JBPT) at Basic Training Institute, Belgaum (Karnataka). On successful completion of
JBPT, candidates will be allocated trades and sent for Trade Training of specified
duration. Training is however liable to be terminated at any time if the trainee fails to
achieve the required standards in academics, profession, physical fitness and
discipline or is found to be medically unfit. After successful completion of training,
the airmen will be deployed on ground based jobs as per their allotted
trades

10. PAY & ALLOWANCES. During training, a stipend of Rs. 8,550/-per month will be
paid. On completion of training, starting gross emoluments at the minimum of
scale of pay including Dearness Allowance(DA), will be Rs. 22,410/-per month
(approximately) [Pay in Pay Band - (Rs.7,050/-)+Grade Pay - (Rs.2,000/-)+Military
Service Pay (MSP)-Rs.2,000/-+Group X Pay (Rs.1400/-)+DA@80%- (Rs.9960/-)
which, in subsequent years, may rise up to Rs. 39,546/-per month (approximately)
[ Pay in Pay Band - (Rs.13,770/-) + Grade Pay - (Rs.4800/-) + Military Service Pay
(MSP) - (Rs.2,000) + Group X Pay - (Rs. 1,400/-) + DA @ 80% - (Rs. 17,576/-)]as per
sixth pay commission depending upon the rank attained. Other allowances such as
Transport Allowance, Composite Personal Maintenance Allowance(CPMA), Leave
Ration Allowance (LRA), Family Planning Allowance, GCB+Classn pay, HRA etc are
also admissible to airmen.

11. PERQUISITES. Perks such as Ration, Clothing, Medical Facilities,
accommodation, CSD Canteen Facilities, Leave (60 days Annual and 30
days Casual leave admissible as priviledge), Education Concession to
children, Recreational Facilities, Free Transport for school going children
and Leave Travel Concession (LTC). Not withstanding the above, Group
Insurance Cover of Rs.25,00,000/- at a premium of Rs.1,730/- per month, is covered
for all airmen and facility of Group Housing Scheme is also extended. Other facilities
by Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) are also extended for family
of airmen.
12. JOB SPECIFICATIONS.

 Group 'X' (Technical) Trades involve jobs as given below:
(a) Automobile Fitter. In this trade you are responsible for maintenance and repair
of all types of light and heavy duty mechanical vehicles, cranes and loading equipment
etc. (b) Electronics Fitter. As an Electronics Fitter you operate and maintain Radar,
Voice and Data transmission and reception equipment mounted on latest airborne
weapon delivery systems and ground based air defence systems. You will get
trained in Digital Electronics, measuring instruments, radar technology, latest electronic
devices and related trade fundamentals. (c) Electrical Fitter. You will maintain
power supply system of latest types of aircraft, airborne missiles and associated
ground systems. You will also maintain photo equipment mounted on air borne
weapon systems and operate ground based photo systems. You will get trained in
electrical trade, operation and maintenance of digital devices, electronics devices
etc. (d) Mechanical System Fitter. You will repair and maintain mechanical, hydraulic
and pneumatic systems of airborne missiles, engines, automobiles aircraft fuelling
equipment. Complete aircraft ground support equipment will also be repaired and
maintained by you. You will be trained in handling and preparation of bombs and
explosives and in electrical system, workshop and mechanical trades as well as
automobile mechanics. (e) Structures Fitter. As Structures Fitter you are responsible
for the maintenance and servicing of airframes and their accessories, components
and controls of aircraft. Regular checks for the entire hydraulic and pneumatic
system to ensure proper functioning against leaks are also part of your duties. You
will also be assigned the responsibility of marshalling, parking, picketing and ground
handling of aircraft. (f) Propulsion Fitter. In this trade you will repair, maintain and
prepare for use the propulsion system of aircraft and other airborne weapon delivery
system. (g) Workshop Fitter (Smith). You will undertake major structural repairs
of all aircraft at central repair facilities. You will also be trained in workshop trade for
material treatment, welding, heat treatment, smithy and basic machine tools etc. (h)
Workshop Fitter (Mechanical). You will undertake repair and maintenance work
of mechanical nature. You will be trained in workshop trade and practices. (j) Weapon
Fitter. In this trade, you will prepare, maintain and service armaments, ammunition
and safety equipment of aircraft, missiles and other weapon delivery systems. You
will also operate and maintain small arms and bomb destruction equipment. You will
be trained to handle bombs, explosives, arms and their installation on weapon delivery
platforms

SELECTION PROCEDURE
13. VERIFICATION OF ELIGIBILITY.Certificates / Mark Sheets and other required
documents {NCC 'A', 'B' or 'C' Certificate, Son of Air Force Personnel
Certificate (SOAFP)} etc will be scrutinized and verified at the examination venue
prior to commencement of Written Test to ascertain the prima-facie eligibility. Detailed
verification will be carried out in respect of candidates who pass Written Test later.
Candidature of those who do not meet the laid down educational criteria is liable to
be rejected even after written test after detailed verification of original documents.
SEQUENCE OF EXAMINATION
14. WRITTEN TEST. Written test will be objective type and question paper will be
bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English Paper. Duration of the written test will
be 60 minutes and will be conducted in English, Physics and Mathematics
as per CBSE syllabus of AISSCE. CANDIDATES ARE TO QUALIFY EACH
PAPER SEPERATELY. Results of the written test will be declared on the same day.
15. PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST (PFT) . All candidates who pass the written test are to
undergo Physical Fitness Test (PFT) on the same or the next day. PFT consists
of a 1.6 Km run to be completed within 8 minutes. Candidates completing the PFT
in less than 7 minutes 30 seconds will be awarded additional marks on a
sliding scale. Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts.
16. INTERVIEW. Candidates who have passed the written test and PFT will be
interviewed. Interview is normally conducted in English. Working Knowledge
of English is thus essential.
17. MEDICAL EXAMINATION . Medical examination will be conducted as per IAF
medical standards for recruitment as airmen by medical officers of the Armed
Forces. Candidates declared Medically Unfit can avail the option for Appeal Medical
Board (AMB) against their Unfitness by depositing Rs. 40/- in a Government Treasury/
RBI/SBI through Military Receivable Order (MRO). The application for AMB along with
original copy of MRO, Xerox copy of Unfitness Certificate and Postal Stamp worth
Rs. 25/- affixed on a self addressed envelope are to be submitted to 07 Airmen
Selection Centre, No.1 Cubbon Road, Bengaluru (Karnataka) for processing
within seven working days from the date of issue of Medical Certificate.
Note: Candidates are also advised to get tartar and stains removed from
their teeth before appearing for the written test. Ears should be free of
wax. Candidates should be prepared to stay for the test for four to five
days under their own arrangements. No TA/DA will be admissible.
18. PUBLISHING OF ALL INDIA SELECT LIST (AISL). The All India Select List (AISL)

The inclusion of names of the candidates in the AISL depends upon the
performance of the candidates in the Rally. Inclusion of name in the All
India Select List (AISL) does not guarantee automatic enrolment.
Enrolment is strictly in order of merit from the AISL subject to medical
fitness, availability of vacancies, not exceeding the age of 21 years on
date of enrolment and meeting laid down eligibility criteria as and when
called for enrolment.
